PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY
What is pelvic floor therapy?
Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized type of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles and surrounding structures of your pelvis.
These muscles play an important role in bladder and bowel function, sexual health, core stability, and how we move and manage pressure throughout the body. And no, it's not just Kegels!
In fact, Kegels aren't the answer to everything. Sometimes your pelvic floor needs to get stronger, sometimes it needs to relax, and sometimes it needs to learn how to coordinate with the rest of your body. That's where pelvic floor therapy comes in!
My goal is to teach you how to manage your pelvis, utilize breathing and appropriate pressure management, and give you the confidence and tools to help you move forward with less pain and more freedom to do the things you love with the people you love!
Who Can Benefit? EVERYONE!
Truly, anyone with a pelvis can benefit from pelvic floor therapy, not just pregnant and postpartum women. Our low back, core, hip, and leg muscles attach to our pelvis so pelvic floor therapy can help with many orthopedic conditions as well, including but not limited to low back pain, hip pain, groin pain, SI joint pain, etc.

What Does A Pelvic Floor Session Involve?
Your first appointment starts with a conversation about your symptoms, history, and goals so we can get a better understanding of what's going on.
From there, we'll work through an individualized assessment that may include looking at your breathing, posture, movement, strength, and pelvic floor function.
Depending on your needs, treatment may include exercise, hands-on techniques, education, and movement strategies to help you feel and function better.
*Internal pelvic floor assessment is completely optional and only performed with your consent.*
